We got underway departing Port Wrangle at 0400 for the  97nm run

and we will be in  Geographic Harbor tonight,

We anchored in Port Wrangell last night and spent the evening as dinner guests aboard M/V Sea Lyon. Sea Lyon is a delta 70 that has spent a lot of time moored at SBMC under the care of Pacific Yacht Management who have their shop and offices there. Sea Lyon is now owned by Dan Fitzgerald, an experienced yachtsman from San Diego.  Dan contacted us while we were still in Dutch Harbor to ask if we could meet somewhere between Kodiak and Dutch. Dan and his co/captain Julio are heading to Japan with planned stops (if possible) at each Island of the Aleutians and they wanted to pick our brains about the Passage and about cruising in Japan.  It was a delightful visit!

    Spent many days and have beautiful memories aboard Sea Lion, with Steve Leonard at the helm. Glad to see it’s continuing to make good memories.

    Don and Patrick, I can just imagine how interesting it must have been for you to explore the things here… like a special museum. Even though I understand why places like this are abandoned in Alaska… they always seem strange to me in a world that otherwise always seems to be building things. Strange to see Starr at the docks there… like the boat is holding the dock, rather than the other way around. Stay safe and have fun!
